I ask a lot of questions. I think it’s great that Holly (my friend from the airport) asked me to be her test dummy for her CFI lessons because I ask more questions than anyone I’ve met...except for toddlers, talkative toddlers have me beat. 😂
So, I uploaded my first Q&A video! And I also finally got my channel intro done! That’s partly why I haven’t posted a blog post in nearly a month, I’ve been concentrating on my videos and of course school!
I’m 60% through with my Jeppesen course, and got a 92% on my last practice exam. I’m learning Regulaions now, and about to take another practice exam. I’m in week 3 of Winter Term, classes are going well. I’m in:
1. Northwest Literature
2. Music Theory
3. Personal Fianance
I like them all, the music being my favorite because it doesn’t feel like homework 🤗 They’re each 4 credits so an even load.
Im looking into flight training, have been since end of Dec! I have 2 options right now:
1. join a flying club here at work, I’m waiting to see if I will be able to afford the new insinuate they’re getting. This option means I’ll be flying their C-150 of C-172. I also have to have one of their CFIs because of policy.
2. a fellow here in Hamagr City who wins a C-172 said he’d let me borrow it. But again insurance comes in to play (and it’s mean). I either buy my own, or ask him to write my name under his on his insurance claim. This options means I’ll fly the bigger C-172, and his is also equipped with G600. I would have my friend who trains pilots looking to go into missions as my CFI.
I need to talk to the owner of the flying club, see if he has an update on the insurance costs’....I am leaning more towards the club for obvious reasons. The C-150 is the standard training plane (or the 152) and if I were to go with option 2 I just feel less safe borrowing this guy’s plane because while he’s really eager and willing to help me out, I don’t want to cause legal problems.
UPDATE: Im at work and it smells like pizza and it’s cozy and arm inside. Outside is gross and raining and around 43F. I went downstairs and there was the club owner, talking to Micheal my boss! So, looks like he can’t give me a price quote yet. He said they find out on the insurance come February. So, more waiting is what that means. And of course I need to focus on getting that above 90% score on my written!
I did do some “seat flying” today, I sat in our 152 here at work like I do every time I work (if it’s free and no one is taking it up!) and I stay for about 15 mine or so, depending how warm it is 😂 and I go through the checklist and just general familiarize myself with the 6-pack (those are the staple 6 instruments that every pilot should know!) and pretend I’m taxiing our and all that good stuff.

have an essay I’m going to work on today, and I’d like to take my Jeppesen practice exam no. 2 but we’ll see, I gotta do school first...
I also talked with my San Diego advisor yesterday, he said I’m all cleared with pre-reps (my core classes). Well, almost. I’m doing my final 3 right now Winter Term, and I have Physics left but I’ll either do it online while in San Diego, at the school itself, or do it when I’m home at community college. I’ll worry about that when the time comes haha.
I went to a Missions conference last weekend! It was random, but free admission so why not! I heard Francis Chan speak and he’s just as good in person as his sermons are on youtube! I attended 1 workshop, and met some people.
Weird thing: I’ve been trying to meet this graduate pilot from San Diego and his wife for awhile now. They live in Oregon, so you’d think it’d be easy to arrange a meeting with them right? Nope. I emailed but they just seemed too busy so I kind of gave up on meeting them to glean info on what loans they took, how long hey we’re in school, where they work now etc. BUT HE WAS AT THE MISSIONS CONFERENCE.

Not only did I get to meet the guy I’ve been trying to meet for the past 6 months, (his name is Kevin) but I met him through the MAF representative I’m always running into! (also, this rep is the person who told me about the MAF event where I volunteered and when the flying journey really started taking off for me). The rep was kind enough to text said-elusive pilot guy (Kevin) and give me his number, then Kevin texted me back and we ended up meeting after Francis Chan’s sermon! Kevin was a trove of information and I drilled him for 2 hours, we were the last ones out of the building and it was 11 am! My sister Bethany was awesome to wait for me, I really learned a lot from Kevin! And the sermon too of course!

Other things have been happening too. Mainly, this past week I’ve been emailing, texting, calling, and meeting lots of connections. This feels really good because I’ll need all the help I can get if I’m really going to go to San Diego, if I really wanna do this path!
Oh, I also filled out an appeal for off-campus housing. On-campus is $10K a year, and I know I’d love to have hat money for groceries and flight training instead! So I appealed, we’ll see if it gets approved. Once it does, I actually still need to find roommates ....😂 (and a place to stay..) Kevin did tell me there’s host families down in SD, so I’m looking into that!
I’m also reading Romans 12 now, I finished my previous Luke study. Romans 12 1:1 is odd because you’d think Paul would say “spirit/soul/mind” is true worship when you offer it up to God. But Paul is saying your physical, external body is pleasing to God. I don’t get it honestly because God ALWAYS seems to care more about the inside, so why in Romans 12, “true worship”, He wants the outside?? I’m thinking about that today at work. I already gave Him my life and dreams and hopes and EVERYTHING, but I guess He does need the physical body to be His hands and feet here on Earth since He’s in the spiritual side of things. I gave my physical body, but I thought He’d care more about the heart and mind. Interesting things. I guess even if you have h best intentions and purest heart, if you’re unable to walk or talk or move it would be harder to do some things. But you can still testify His name from your bed so - can you notice my mind is going in circles - WHY DOES HE WANT PHYSICAL BODIES IN ROMANS 12. It might be a symbolical way Paul is saying to really mean “give him your body like a slave would to a master, serve under His rule instead of the world’s and live for Him.”
WAIT WAIT, I just thought, the price for sin in the Old Testament was physical bodies = sacrifices. 🐃🐂🐄🐏🐑
so maybe the price for new life in the New Testament = our bodies.
I really don’t know fam, but I gotta jet now because I have an essay waiting and I want to finish my hw so I make it to choir practice tonight! Haven’t been in awhile to choir and I really miss singing, and our church’s youth services start up again so I’m looking forward to that. 🤗

Also, see that couch behind me? I’d love to go sit on it and play some guitar later too! We have a resident guitar here...better make use of it (:
