I got my passport ⭐️

I know for most this isn’t exciting.
But I’ve wanted my passport since I was little. I always wanted to fly on a plane and go somewhere far but did as a kid. We went camping instead, and for that I’m extremely grateful because we may not have been able to see the world but we got to know our home state really well and went to Idaho, California, and Washington. Canada as well, but only my older siblings because I was too young haha but anyways, camping is a huge part of how I grew up and I love it!! (hint: upcoming video for Spring Break..(:

But I just turned 20 & I felt it was about time to just do the paperwork, pay the fee, wait in line & get it over with. Get my passport! So my mum & I tried to Monday but I didn’t make it to the office in time, & USPS wants you to make an appointment in advance (my mum didn’t need to, when she got here 2 years ago but times are a’changing). So I ended up trying again Tuesday at a different location, my city’s official office actually. I dropped off my sister Becky at school for her last final, & then I got the bank & then the city office. My wait & application was 30 mins, & painless. It helped that I had my form filled out already & had already taken my passport photos at Costco ($5 homies get on it) bless my mum for knowing about Costco photos, because otherwise you pay $15 at the office or post office you apply at.

I have multiple reasons for applying, obviously the first being I want to travel out of the US and overseas but my youth choir is going to Romania for the second time this Summer. They went back in 2016, I didn’t go. I was going to get my passport then. I want to go to Romania for this mission/singing trip but I’m also praying about it because what’s weird is:
- my flight training starts this March 29/30 ish sometime, Romania trip is July 24th-Aug 7th
- that means I have almost exactly 3 months to get my PPL, even a little less actually.
- the 172 I’m training in that I posted about in my last blog post? The insurance policy I’m paying for expires exactly July 24th (shpooky).
- school starts August 22nd, so I’ll be cutting it pretty close to then since I don’t have my rent or anything specific figured out.
I know the first objective this year is to get my private pilot licnese, but I’m really thinking by the grace of God I will be able to make it to Romania. If not how, who knows when I’ll go, and I wouldn’t want my first time to be 10 years from now at age 30, when my passport expires :)
