New Job

So I'm moving on from the FBO I've worked at for a little over a year, and I'm working remotely for a Drone Academy!

I don't mention this often, but I did touch on it in my previous post (see "Figure it Out") about how I want to do a lot of different things! I like speaking and writing and film and video and travel and freelance and art/graphic design/maps, and of course flying! But how to combine that all into a job that helps and inspires people and rescues them from impending tsunamis while being vlogged for youtube?

Who knows. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

This drone academy gives me amazing freedom in my schedule and lifework, and while the pay is low, if I'm not risky now in my business endeavors I most likely never will be! So I took a chance, left the FBO because I was starting to get really comfortable (seriously, some days the wind is so bad AND it's raining so heavy that nobody is flying, and I'm sitting the whole day doing my essay hw, my daily Duolingo language lesson, and just thinking of instagram captions. And answering the phone, occasionally).

I feel God has given me a lot more peace over my future (I did ask for it!) because now I'm more thinking along the lines of "why not?"

  1. Why not try while I'm young, healthy, and have no mortgage?

  2. I'm not dropping out of school to play my ukulele on the street or anything, I'm just trying out an odd job and cultivating some hobbies to see where it all takes me!

  3. I can always make more money, I can NEVER make more time. Being young is a great asset :)

  4. I really do keep thinking that of the most valuable things to to me, money scores pretty low (good thing I'm in aviation eh? ahha kidding, kind of) and time means A LOT to me.

I'm excited to see what happens, whether it was a mistake to move on or not! But I was at the FBO a full good year, learned a lot, met tons of people. I'm feeling ready to expand my knowledge in other areas of my life, this drone job will help with that in filming, aviation, drones, business and networking etc :)

Just some thoughts.

Here's some videos I made about working the fuel line at a fun little airport (:

Life Working At The Airport!"
